Are you a virtuous woman?

The Strength In Me...

After many of my daily conversations with women, I always walk away with the same idea; women are courageous and strong individuals. Does it ever surprise you the strength that we as women have? It doesn't surprise me now, but I can remember a time, when it did. I remember as a child watching my single mother raise my brothers and I. I would question her, " how do you do it?" She would respond, "Girl, its nothing but God's given strength." It's funny now, because I find myself repeating the same phrase to others and really meaning it. Because my sons are 13 months apart, people always ask me how do I do it. Can you guess what my answer is? LOL!

Do you ever feel like you're the only one holding everything down? Home, kids, family, bills, career, and relationships? Like you are superwoman, and rescuing everyone that you know? Has it ever been so bad that you just escape to a quiet place and cry? I dont know about you, but I have definitely had my days. I often speak with my girlfriends and family, who range from single, career-oriented women, to single-mothers, to married mothers, and to young Christian women. And with every story, I tend to notice a sense of victory regardless of their circumstances. The conversation usually begins with girl talk, women just venting about their daily trials. But lately, I've been walking away with testimonies of strength. I can not help but admire these women, and all that they have overcome. I don't think they have a clue as to what they are doing, ( I will have to start telling them this personally lol), but they are graciously affecting lives. To all of you virtuous women, I say, you are a force to be reckoned with.

I can remember a pastor once saying, " A man's workday is from sun up to sun down. But a woman's workday never ends." I couldn't agree more. At times, our responsibilities can dispense so much from us. As a result, we give most of what we have to those we love, and little is left for ourselves. But the best news is, just when we feel like there's nothing left, God gives us the tenacity to move forward.

When God created the virtuous women, he provided us the precious tool of strength. "She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengthen her arms," (Proverbs 31: 17). As with everything, God knew first-hand what we would have to endure as women. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that you have over-come all that you have, and all that you will. Oh how I love the God we serve. Not to mention, Proverbs 31!

In the midst of it all, I am simply a strong virtuous woman...
