Are you a virtuous woman?

The Virtuous Fashionista!

If you're like me and hundreds of other women, then you're a true lover of clothes, shoes, and accessories. OMGoodness I don't think this is something that will ever change for a woman, and frankly, I'm okay with that. The perfect outfit, French mani and pedi, and a fresh hair do just make me feel like a lady. Who says that virtuous women can't have a sense of style? Not me. I am a virtuous fashonista whose presence speaks sophistication and modesty.

With all of the many fads and trends in today's society, it is so easy for us to get caught up on the latest styles. Apparently, models and actresses are today's trend setters. However, the more I dive into my devotions; I am learning that GOD set the trends for fashion long before there was a Hollywood. In fact, those trends have yet to change. The bible states, "she maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple," (Proverbs 31:22). GOD presents women in fine clothing, but also urges us to develop of sense of modesty in our attitude and attire.

Over the years, my sense of style has evolved. At one point, I was a little tomboyish and went through this phase of jeans and t-shirts, and then at another time, I wanted to wear dresses and 4-inch heels. But when I began learning that men wanted women who looked like women, that tomboyish attitude flew out the window,"the woman shall not wear that which pertaineth to man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment,” (Deu 22:5). Therefore, at 25, this virtuous mother and wife's closet is filled with fashions that speak I am a child of GOD. GOD’s taste in fashion is so good that HE meets all of my needs, and my husbands. And, my husband's favorite goodies are hidden behind my favorite Michael Kors dress (that I found for 50% off YAY)!

As virtuous women, it is our duty to represent GOD at all times. This should always show in our way of dress. And we don’t have to always look like we arrived B.C. There are plenty of ways to be fashionable and still modest. Yes, it may mean that you have to try on more outfits to get the right look, but isn't GOD worth it? Just because the rest of the word is wearing tablecloths as dresses, does not mean that we have to jump on the bandwagon, “in like manner, women adorn themselves in modest apparel,” (2 Tim 2:9). Modesty is not just a type of dress, but a state of mind. And remember your clothes do not define you, but your decision to trust in God does.

I am strong virtuous Fashionista, who understands GOD's love, with a family who honors me, virtuous friends who love me, and with a giving spirit.

Until Next Time,

KPA
