Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday. A time to be thankful for all the blessings God has provided in our lives. When I think of blessing I usually focus on the tangible. Friends, family, food, clothing, car, home, health, etc. But in my devotions this past week I came across something intangible that I should be thankful for: God's amazing love for me.

Ephesians 3:17-19 says,"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God". What a beautiful passage of scripture. God's love for me is so great that it goes beyond what my finite mind can understand. His love is the reason I have so many things in my life to be thankful for. His love is the reason I continue to receive blessings I don't deserve. I'm reminded of a song the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir sings that says, "I'm amazed that You love me, I'm amazed that You care". Take time this Thanksgiving to thank God for His amazing love.
