Are you a virtuous woman?

On My Side

This has truly been an amazing LOV ride for me and Christina.  The first blog post, “Are You Virtuous?” was posted on July 15, 2010 and ever since then I feel like I am getting closer and closer to what God has called me to do.  As I have mentioned in previous blogs, I started LOV when I was unemployed and at home with my kids. I remember feeling like I was a failure to my family because I couldn’t help to support us financially.  Well in that time, I truly believe that God kept me home so that I could start LOV, and spend time learning to be a Christian wife and mother. And eventually God gave me the desires of my heart and blessed me with a rewarding job outside of our home.  As always, God’s plan is perfect.
Well once again, I am back at the starting point. The job that God blessed with me 8 months ago will be ending tomorrow. It is a grant based position and the grant ends tomorrow. My co-workers, supervisor, and some friends have asked, “What are you going to do?” My reply, “Go home and wait for God to tell me what the next move is.” This sounds crazy even to me when I think about it, especially as my dear friends water, electric, and mortgage continue to visit me at the same time every month. But in my talks with God, I hear Him saying, “I got this.” He has said this to me before, and each time I have been blessed. I am learning to take heed.

What’s my point in sharing this? Well first, I needed to vent (and my husband has heard this a million times) and two; it’s just to remind you that we are not to stray away from God in the midst of our storms. Furthermore, if we remain in God’s will, He will remain on our side.  Psalm 119:2 says, “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.” Psalm 115: 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Many times, when things don’t go the way in which we’ve planned, we begin to stray away from God and start taking matters into our own hands, (as if God needs our assistance). But if we truly trust in God, we know that His way is the only way. I am not suggesting that we sit and do nothing. But I am suggesting that we continue to praise God during the “bad” times in our lives, the same as if He surprisingly blessed us all with $5000 shopping sprees. We’d all be shouting hallelujah!
While I am not excited to say that there’s a big chance that I will be broke after Wednesday, I am excited to know that God is preparing me for the next big thing. I love serving God because He continues to keep me on my toes and wanting more of Him (smile).  Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers as we continue to do the same for yours.

Excited for what’s to come,

KPA
