Handling Haters

I’ve wanted to write on this topic for a while now. What are we talking about tonight? “Haters.” Some refer to those whom do us harm as haters, while others refer to them as enemies.  Tonight, I want to expound on this topic because I think it’s something that every human being deals with at some point in their lives. And as women on this journey, I think it’s significant that we deal with our enemies in the way, God has commanded.
I honestly can’t tell you who my haters are. It’s not something that I spend my time worrying about.   Instead I have made a commitment to try and communicate with those who voice that they may have a concern with me and attempt to resolve the issue.  And in the case where my “hater” refuses to communicate to resolve the problem, I pray for them and move on.  I don’t talk about them behind their backs, call them out on Facebook, or feel sorry for myself that someone doesn’t like me. I simply move on and pray that someday in the future we can mend our relationship.  Not to mention, how many of us know those ladies, who swear that every female who looks their way “hating” on them? These are the ladies who are so consumed with themselves that they create their own “enemies.”

The way I see it, if there is someone in your life who truly wants to destroy your character versus mending the relationship, it’s not your problem; give it to the Lord. 1 Psalm 55:22 states, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”  God also tells us how to love our enemies, But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you,” (Math 5:44).  It is not our job to tally the number of “haters” that we have or even get revenge. But it is our job to be a godly example to them or even lead them to the Lord.

Are you praying for your enemies?

Until next time,
