In a sermon I recently heard, 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." was highlighted. This brought to mind Colossians 3:23, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;". Everything I do, big or small, should be done heartily and for God's honor and glory. This applies whether I'm picking up toys or writing a post for this blog. My attitude toward unpleasant or boring situations affect how I get through them. When I have a positive attitude I get through the situation faster and have a better frame of mind throughout. If I apply these verses to my daily life, I can't help but have a good attitude no matter what task confronts me.
I'm a stay at home wife and mom and right now my job is to meet the needs of my family to the best of my ability. Walking my daughter through every move of a game of Candy Land falls under that description. She deserves a mommy who patiently teaches her new things. God deserves a daughter (me!) who appreciates His blessings and does everything heartily for His glory.
In Christ,
